Hello my name is Amani Shaw I am a wife and mother of two. I am excited about having an blog where I can share stories and information for others to learn as well as gain insight from my colleagues.
This book is an excellent resource for those who will be teaching or even being a mentor to a child with disabilities. It gives you a step by step approach on how to handle certain situations and how to have an overall positive educational experience for the child. My mom introduced me to Dr. Spock who was at one point everyones favorite pediatrician. I do find that a lot of the lessons and tips that he gives are still valid to children today and will be a great resource to educators.
When I think of my favorite children's book I go back to my own childhood. The first book that comes to mind is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. I remember loving this as a child because of the bright beautiful colors in the book. The colors caught my attention and made learning the alphabet fun and memorable. I do believe that when children are learning hard concepts it is always good to incorporate a fun concept to help the concept stick in their minds.
My mom My mom is a perfect example of great mom and a woman who goes for her dreams and follows her goals. She provides me with love and support. She is also a great mentor to me. She gives me advice and unconditional love. Hope Home is my sister and a part of the web of support. We are really close in age so growing up I learned a lot from her. She was always there to give me support and loving advice. A lot of times I would see how she went through different situations and learn from them. My dad My father passed at an early age but his influence left an imprint on my life. He was a big enforcer of making sure we know the difference between whats right and what is wrong. He taught me how to treat people and about responsibilities. God mother My god mother was a big influence to my childhood web. She introduced my sister and I to different experiences.
